The fall 2014 Genetic Evaluation has just been performed that included calf weights at weaning age (although after being weighed, most calves were turned back to their dams to be wintered at their sides until early spring). At the Bulls for Sale page, the blue and white table of scores and EPDs for the ten bulls offered for sale has now been updated. A new column has been added to show 205-day adjusted weaning weights. As a result of this evaluation, several bulls now have even larger negative birth and weaning weight and milk EPDs and with higher accuracies. At Lukefahr Ranch, negative EPDs are always preferred to large positive ones, which will more likely result in the breeding of better adapted cattle for harsh environments.
